Truman show- The Truman show, in my eyes, is true to life because the movie gave off a protective/secretive vibe. Meaning, the whole time that movie was filmed, he had no idea. Therefore, the protective/secretive vibe. I get both these vibes because in a way I couldn't always tell which one it matched more throughout the movie. I say it gave off a protective vibe because they could have been keeping the fact that they were filming him to protect him from the real world, to not let him become corrupt and heartbroken with what the real world actually is. So, they created an island that was used to keep him inside and seem as though he was living a normal life and everyone was so pure and happy and never down or rude. I get the secretive vibe from the movie, because they could have also made it as though they just never wanted him to leave. It was how his world was meant to be until he died. So his friends and family all stayed quiet and never said a word because he was the star and they were making money off of him and the show. Everyone was. So, to keep that going, they continued to lie and continued to corrupt him and keep him there. Secrets equal lies and manipulation. That's what could have happened. I still see a little of both in the vibe of the movie but more for the manipulative vibe. In the end, they still tried to keep him there but he left. He went and explored and decided to find out what life was really like. It's true to life because there is manipulation and lies. Everywhere you turn. Most of the world has to do more with corruption and manipulation than anything. That's where they mainly match ways. They as in the Truman Show and life. People are corrupted wherever they go just to benefit others and what others are trying to do. They are lied to because they could get hurt emotionally and/or physically. People see manipulation and lying as a good thing sometimes. Mainly when they are trying to "protect" somebody, they think they're saying the right thing and doing the right thing. In reality, they could be hurting the person they're lying to more than anything they know. People don't realize that because they lie for their own benefit and expect nothing to happen. But I feel as though people always forget, the truth always comes out. And sooner or later, it's going to come back and bite that person in the butt. As people usually say, karma bites.
