News reading- In the news reading I read, it talked about how there must be something in the ultra-processed foods that causes us to overeat. An ultra-processed diet causes us to eat over 500 calories more than a minimally processed whole food. The article was going with something in the food affecting the gut microbiome. Meaning, with the many types of bacteria lining our stomach and colon, it can cause us to overeat and become more at risk of containing a chronic disease. This personally disgusts me. The fact that ultra-processed foods can hurt our bodies that badly is horrifying. There should be more rules and better actions taken to prevent what's being put in the food that we consume so much to continue to be put in our food. Things such as: not adding so many colors and additives, not pumping them so full of chemicals.
