News reading 8- The article was about abortion and women's rights. There are 24 democratic presidential candidates and they all had something to say about abortion and what they would do to enforce those things. In places that have anti-abortion laws, there are a few people that have come up with clever plans for "safeguarding abortion access." The Hyde Amendment is about banning federal funding on for most abortions, so some of the democratic candidates have "converged around a series of policies that would have seemed remarkably progressive just five years ago." The democratic candidates also move toward increasing and multilayered support for abortion rights, while republican candidates have "backed increasingly restrictive laws." In my opinion, abortion isn't the best thing to go with. There are other ways if someone decides they can't go through with having a child. I understand people that have abortions also probably know that as well, but if they know, why not go with another choice? I don't exactly support abortions, but I don't diss on them either. I agree that if someone feels as though they can't have a baby, they are too unstable, or too unprepared then yes, make a better life for that child and don't have it or give it to someone else. I personally think that if someone is pregnant, it is their choice to do what they please with their body. It's their body, not the doctors, not the "baby daddy," not the mother or father of the woman who is pregnant. It is and always will be, that woman's choice.
